Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

Avatar or The Hurt Locker? I loved both of these...they are such different movies from one another...but both have my vote. Which movie are you hoping gets Best Pic? |
ReelFan 03/07/10 |
ST vs Avatar Star Trek will have to happy with at least one Oscar...Avatar will take the rest in terms of fx... |

10 up for Best Picture... Do you know why they decided to have 10 pictures up for Best Picture category this time? Isn't this a first? |
ReelFan 03/07/10 |
10 picts Yes, it is a first...they wanted to expand, in my opinion, the viewing audience...so they have 10 pictures of all types..sci-fi, drama, independent, war, etc....so all the fans will tune in. Plus it helps in dvd sales with the nominated for best picture. |

HORROR TRIBUTE! YES!!!! |

Hurt Locker night so far... we'll see if that carries to best picture... |

I was kind of surprised...Avatar was so good with all of the sound stuff...but The Hurt Locker had its share. Maybe it will be the Academys choice. |

Hurt Locker vs Avatar night... |

In Memoriam A nice memorial...but too short...and not enough time spent on each person. Hardly saw Patrick Swayze. I know there are time limits, but they could have allowed a little more time for it. Oh well. |

Original Score dance...started out kinda week but seemed to pick up at the end. |

Hurt Locker no surprise for best director and film...some day a sci-fi film will win it. |
