Avatar or The Hurt Locker?

I loved both of these...they are such different movies from one another...but both have my vote. Which movie are you hoping gets Best Pic?

ST vs Avatar

Star Trek will have to happy with at least one Oscar...Avatar will take the rest in terms of fx...

10 up for Best Picture...

Do you know why they decided to have 10 pictures up for Best Picture category this time? Isn't this a first?

10 picts

Yes, it is a first...they wanted to expand, in my opinion, the viewing audience...so they have 10 pictures of all types..sci-fi, drama, independent, war, etc....so all the fans will tune in. Plus it helps in dvd sales with the nominated for best picture.

I was kind of surprised...Avatar was so good with all of the sound stuff...but The Hurt Locker had its share. Maybe it will be the Academys choice.

In Memoriam

A nice memorial...but too short...and not enough time spent on each person. Hardly saw Patrick Swayze. I know there are time limits, but they could have allowed a little more time for it. Oh well.

I got it to come back on after what you told me to do...but I'm getting a "critial battery" message and it keeps shutting off. Time to buy a new battery!

Hurt Locker no surprise for best director and film...some day a sci-fi film will win it.
