Few movies are made today that have a positive and powerful message that make you want to stand up and cheer at the end. Invictus is one of those rare breeds!
Invictus tells the true story of how Nelson Mandela is released from prison after almost 30 years, becomes president of South Africa and unites his segregated country into a nation of pride thru the national rugby team.
Amazing performances by both Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. A film directed by Clint Eastwood, and sure to rack up not only a ton of Oscar nominations, but I am sure some major wins!
Although not your typical Hollywood movie filled with special F/X and rehashed tales, this story tugs at your heart strings and makes you smile throughout the whole film! The best thing that I appreciated about this movie is that it really happened, which is more than inspiring! It's a message of how forgiveness can break barriers and can restore even that which was once thought destroyed!
Not since the original "Rocky" and the film "Rudy" have I enjoyed such an inspiring film! Although, Invictus gets a rare 10 out of ten from me, I would venture to say that kids and the younger crowd might not appreciate this film as much as the adults will, but if you want to see a feel good and powerful movie....... Invictus is the ticket!
